Statkraft BLP Commissions 5 MW Solar Project in Tamil Nadu Solar solutions provider Statkraft BLP Solar Solutions (SBSS) has successfully commissioned a 5 MW solar project in Tamil Nadu’s Gummidipoondi town. The project was developed at the manufacturing facility of SRF, a manufacturer of industrial and specialty intermediates, to meet its energy requirements. According to the company, the project is one of the largest in-campus solar power projects in the state of Tamil Nadu. The project is estimated to generate 7,500 MWh clean energy annually, Statkraft said in a media release announcing the inauguration. According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, the state of Tamil Nadu is one of the top solar states in India with over 1.7 GW of installed solar capacity. The state also has a strong pipeline of ~2.4 GW pf projects under development.
